HONOR
Publishing Company has created this privacy policy in order to demonstrate our
firm commitment to your privacy. The following discloses our information gathering
and dissemination practices for our websites: www.honorpub.com & www.ScoutingBooks.com.
These sites use the privacy guidelines as set forth by TRUSTe, an independent,
non-profit privacy initiative dedicated to building users' trust and confidence
on the Internet and accelerating growth of the Internet industry.
HONOR
Publishing Company considers your privacy to be very important. Under no circumstances
will we ever release your e-mail address to another company. ALL email broadcasts
are sent from our offices in Kansas City, MO. We will also limit the number
of advertisements we send you to those that we believe you, as a fellow Scout
or Youth leader, might find of interest or that may benefit the youth in your
program. We assure you that any message you receive from Honor Publishing Company
on behalf of a third party will be clearly marked as such.
Our site's mailing list form requires users to give us contact information (like
their name and email address). We use customer contact information from the
mailing list form to send the user information about our company and the resources
we provide, along with our Scouting-E-Zine, a FREE on-line publication. The
customer's contact information is also used to contact the visitor when necessary.
Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section
below.
Our site uses an order form for customers to request information, products, and services. Contact information from the order form is used to send orders and information about our company to our customers. The customer's contact information is also used to get in touch with the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below. Financial information that is collected is used to bill the user for products and services.

We use contact data from our questionnaires to send the user information about our company. The customer's contact information is also used to contact the visitor when necessary. SECURITY
This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.
Protecting your order information is a priority. HONOR Publishing Company makes every effort to protect your online order information using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.
Digital certificates secure communications between your browser and our secure servers. Through electronic credentials, digital certificates help identify and encrypt electronic messages over networks like the Internet, company intranets or extranets.
Digital certificates allow you to verify your identity, privileges or relationship to another party in an online transaction. When used in combination with encryption, they also allow you to encrypt information that you send to another person to provide additional assurance that only the intended party can access the data and that the data will not be compromised en route. Digital certificates facilitate these security measures, which in turn allow applications like e-mail, on-line trading, and credit card purchasing, to be executed in a more secure environment.
SSL encrypts your order information to avoid the decoding of that information by anyone other than HONOR Publishing. To check the security of your connection, look at the lower right-hand corner of your browser window after accessing the server. If you see a closed lock or a unbroken key (depending upon your browser), then SSL is active. (You can also double-check by looking at the URL line of your browser. When accessing a secure server, the first characters of the site address will change from "http" to "https.")
Our site uses Full 128-bit encryption technology.
Some versions of browsers and some firewalls don't permit communication through secure servers. In that case, you'll be unable to connect to the server so you won't have to worry about mistakenly placing an order through an unsecured connection. If you can't access the secure server for whatever reason, you may place your order by e-mailing us at ORDERS@SCOUTINGBOOKS.COM with your phone number and we will call you to take your order over the phone.
